Treat your mother this Mothers Day plus win my perfect present

Can you believe that it is less than two weeks before Mothers Day? Whilst my girls are not so secretly making me homemade cards and planning for us to spend the day together, I have been looking at some of the other alternatives gifts available. Now I am not really into flowers so you won’t find any of them on this list and I am on a diet (again) so there is a distinct lack of chocolate too. When looking at presents I found they mostly fell into three categories drinking, pampering or relaxing so work out what your mum needs and go from there.

Relaxing

We all know that our Mums deserve to relax and the Mothers Day gifts in this category are perfect for helping them forget all their worries.

Now I love a good candle and the scents really can change your mood. I would never have chosen this Rosewood and Cyclamen candle from Mi Abode but as soon as I unwrapped it and the smell of soy wax wafted up my nose I couldn’t wait to light it. The candle burns for 18 hours and is a wonderful clay pot that I will reuse when it has finished. Mi Abode is full of amazing accessories for the home and I am sure you will find the perfect present on their website www.mi-abode.co.uk

Another gift for candle lovers this is from www.Wiff.co.uk and is one of their 40 hour burn time candles. This blooming marvellous Rose and Tuberose candle is one of five bold scents and comes in a large glass tumbler. They have some amazing scents and if you want something different then they have reed diffusers too.

Did you know that March is also National Bed Month? Now we all know that what most mums really need is a good night sleep and these Hotel Collection Silentnight Pillows are the perfect luxury item to make lying in bed a real pleasure.

We all know that colouring helps people to relax and the rise in adult colouring products has been phenomenal. If this is something that you think your mum would enjoy then I can not recommend these Spectrum Noir Colorista products enough. With lots of amazing books featuring metallic highlights or colourable glitter, they look amazing. The double-sided marker pens look fantastic and feel great and the whole range oozes quality. You can get them from www.crafterscompanion.co.uk

If jigsaws are more your mum’s thing then Ravensburger have an impressive range. As much as I would love to create a large jigsaw I just don’t have the time but a 100 piece jigsaw such as this Beauty and the Beast 100XXL glitter puzzle is the ideal relaxant with just enough pieces to keep me interested but not too many that it takes me too long to complete it.

If your mum is the really creative type then these two Kirstie Allsopp sets from Hobbycraft could be perfect for her. The satisfaction of creating something for yourself is amazing and these sets are very giftable with their stylish packaging and reasonable price tag.

Pampering

So now our mums are nice and relaxed it is time to pamper them and what better way to do that than with some of the following Mothers Day gift ideas.

Dove is a go-to gift for some people and now with the new Derma Spa range they can really feel pampered. Not only do these products look good but they smell great too and I can’t wait to try them and get my skin ready for summer.

As women get older they may find that their hair is starting to thin which make silk toppers as perfect gifts for women of a certain age. Making their hair look and feel amazing will boost their confidence and if you combine that with a nice evening out at a restaurant or theatre then they will definitely feel spoilt.

Looking after the pennies doesn’t mean rubbish gifts and these products from Aldi are testiment to that fact. The Abbott & Broome set smells amazing and the Lacura anti-ageing face creams produce similar results to creams costing an awful lot more. These gifts are great for those who love to look after their skin on a daily basis and you never know you may be introducing them to their new favourite product.

This Therapearl Eye-ssential Mask can be used hot and cold to alleviate a range of symptoms from dry or puffy eyes to headaches. The eye mask can be heated in the microwave or cooled in the freezer depending on what they need it for before they sit back and relax letting the Therapearl Eye-ssential mask get to work.

This gift set from The Vintage Cosmetic Company oozes quality and looks amazing. At just £30 it is a real bargain packed full of fabulous products such as the oval paddle brush, floral tweezers, cosmetic clutch bag, towelling headband, brush roll and a selection of makeup brushes. With contents worth £70 and packaged in a wonderful box you don’t even need to wrap it.

Drinking

Now our mums are pampered and relaxed it is time to enjoy a nice glass or wine or a lovely fruity cup of tea. Whatever their preference I have some Mothers Day gift suggestions that will tantalise those taste buds.

I don’t know about your mum but I know that I love a good bit of fizz and these two sparkling wines are a great way to enjoy yourself at the end of a stressful day. Shorn is a lovely light sparkling wine that would go great with a creamy pasta dish such as spaghetti carbonara and Live to Sparkle is available online here and also at my all time favourite family restaurant chain, the Harvester.

If you are after something a little more unusual to drink then Mr Gladstones Curious Emporium is packed full of surprisingly unusual flavoured wines. These are definitely a treat for the tastebuds and will certainly stand out.

Not all Mums enjoy a glass of wine and some of them would much rather a nice hot cup of tea. In fact, when you have young kids the concept of a hot brew seems to be a myth as all of my drinks went cold before I could drink them. This beautiful collection of hand picked organic teas from the English Tea Shop come in individual sachets with 6 different flavours in a stunning tin. When you open the lid they both look and smell amazing and will certainly make a great gift for a tea lover.

A bit of everything

What do you get your mum for Mothers Day if you live far away but want to send her a little bit of everything? Well, this gift set from Letterbox Gift Shop is the ideal treat. Filled with chocolates, tea, soap, a candle and a hand cream it is the idea gift to fit through the letterbox that says “I am thinking of you”.

However, Lumie has now introduced their Desk lamp with has massively increased my productivity and also gives me some great lighting for my product photography!
