We hosted a Rusty Rivets twitter party! #RustyRivetsUK

Yesterday we invited a handful fo children from my daughters’ school to our house to take part in a Rusty Rivets twitter party. Rusty Rivets is a new show produced by Spin Master that is on Nick Jr at 5:30 pm every weekday. Based around the main character Rusty who is a young inventor who uses his knowledge of engineering to repurpose machine parts and create gadgets. He lives in the city of Sparkton Hills along with his friend Ruby, a robotic dinosaur called Botasaur, and a group of smaller robots known as the Bits.

We were sent a variety of items to entertain the children.

Our first activity was a fabulous memory game where the kids had to match up pairs of Rusty Rivets character cards.

After a few rounds of the memory game, we decided to get creative on our next activity. We were sent a variety of craft items and boxes so that we could create our own robot. We were sent some instructions but the kids wanted to make their own design and they all worked well together to create a ravishing robot.

The next activity was a two-sided activity sheet which the kids really enjoyed. It featured loads of the characters from the show and was lots of fun.

Rusty Rivets is on Nick Jr at 5:30 pm every weekday at the moment so we all sat down to enjoy an episode and the kids couldn’t take their eyes off the screen as Rusty and his friends worked together to solve all sorts of problems.

Our final activity was a treasure hunt where I read out clues and the kids raced around the house to find the numbers that I had hidden. The kids absolutely loved this and they have asked if we can create even more treasure hunts in the future.

We had a lot of fun learning more about Rusty Rivets and trying out some of the activities we were sent. You can visit nickjr.co.uk for more Rusty Rivets activities and games.
