Tired Mummy of Two Loves Butlins
Ever since June 2010 when Elizabeth turned two our family have enjoyed ten holidays over the three resorts and we already have two more holidays booked including spending Christmas day with Billy Bear and all his friends.
Over the course of the last two years we have stayed on every resort and tried out lots of different types of accommodation. We have been on term time breaks, school holiday breaks and christmas breaks. We have been when its raining and we have been when its sunny. We even went to the Tots 100 christmas party there. Basically we have been a lot and we love it.
My girls can sing all the Skyline gang songs, they know the names of some of the redcoats and they always talk about going back. This year we got announced as Butlins Ambassadors for 2012/2013 and that is all down to my girls. Anyone who has met me knows that I love Butlins but the thing is I wouldn't love it if my girls didn't. Elizabeth loves Butlins so much that she even had a Butlins themed Birthday, including a Billy and Bonnie Birthday cake and Skyline gang cupcakes. When we were at Bognor in June Billy and Bonnie also made her a birthday cake so we could celebrate when we were there and Alison loved her Sprout birthday cupcakes in September.
This year I was lucky enough to be sponsored by Butlins to attend Britmums Live and if you were there you more than likely saw me on the Butlins stand imparting my knowledge and convincing people to sign up to become a Butlins Ambassador. They initially wanted 20 Ambassadors but they just couldn't choose so they have now chosen 40 Ambassadors to go on one holiday to any of the three resorts. As one of these Ambassadors I am looking forward to reading the review posts written by my fellow ambassadors.

I wonder which resort they will choose? With a choice from Skegness, Minehead or Bognor Regis it really is a hard choice to make with each resort having there own appeal. Skegness is the largest of the three resorts and has a huge stretch of sandy beach, Minehead is in a lovely quaint town with a gorgeous beach and Bognor Regis is the sunniest place in Britain. We enjoy all three resorts but with Bognor Regis having the Shoreline Hotel it is definitely our favourite. With the new Wave hotel that was opened at the beginning of July by Angela Griffin Bognor Regis now has even more appeal. Butlins are never far behind the latest technology and I especially love the Augmented Reality App they made to advertise the Wave Hotel opening. Bognor Regis also has the Ocean hotel where you will find the SPA! Yes you read that right relaxation, massages and a child free environment!
Over the last two years we have seen an amazing variety of entertainment with Mike the Knight, I can Cook, Pantomines, a trip to the beach with the Greencoats, puppet castle, Billy Bear, Lazytown and Thomas the Tank engine. Thats not forgetting the swimming pool, funfair, Archery, fencing and the climbing wall. We never manage to fit it all in which is why every holiday is different. There are so many characters and friends to be made at Butlins including the Skyline gang, Billy and Bonnie Bear, Bob the builder, Wendy and Spud, Barney, Bj and Baby bop, Fireman Sam, Angelina Ballerina, Ludo and even Cedric the seagull. My girls love having there photos taken with the different characters and it is always a pleasure to see the characters swamped by young children who want the opportunity to give them a hug. We always book onto the Character Lunches as this also gives the girls an opportunity to have some one on one time with four different characters as well as get a free photo, balloon and a free gift, as parents we also enjoy the all you can eat premium dining lunch that is included.
When I go to Butlins I know that my waistline will expand a lot, the quality of food on offer is amazing so we hardly ever go Self Catering. As we pay a set amount each day I don't worry about how much the kids are eating and whether they are wasting my money because it is already paid for and the prices are really good value. We have experienced lots of different places to eat from Papa Johns, Turners, premium dining and Hotel Dining. When we went in June we even got the chance to try the new Deck restaurant and we were incredibly impressed with the fresh pasta bar and the grill bar.
Butlins have always been really good at customer service but when we went in June (the week of the floods) they showed just how exceptional they can really be. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they still had there smiles at the end of a long day. Anyone who has tweeted @Butlins will know that Serene, Amber and Holly all try really hard to answer any of your questions and it is not just the social media team. Every single person who works for Butlins whether they are a cleaner, a cook or a redcoat are chosen for their friendly disposition and their willingness to help as much as they can.
I look forward to spending many more years at Butlins and I cant wait to see how my family gets involved in the entertainment as they get older. Most of all I am looking forward to being a Butlins Ambassador and enjoying reading everyone else's opinions on a place I love.
Did you know Butlins is also turned into an Adult venue for some Big Weekends. I went on one with my Mum, Sisters and Best friends and it was a brilliant experience. If you wanted to know what really happens on a Big Weekend check out my post on it.
