Do you remember me telling you about our trip to visit the Once upon a Wartime exhibit at Manchesters Imperial War Museum?

Well this easter they have loads of activities for the kids including special illustration sessions with childrens author and book illustrator Lynne Chapman.

You can find full details of the activities here

We loved the Once upon a wartime exhibit and how it was based around some of my favourite childrens wartime books and I now have the pleasure of hosting a competition where one lucky winner will receive a set of children’s books from the exhibit including War Horse by Michael Morpurgo Carrie’s War by Nina Bawden and Little Soldier by Bernard Ashley.

All you need to do is leave me a comment to tell me what was your favourite book as a child?

UK entries only. Winner will be chosen by random using a number generator. Competition closes at Midnight on 11th April 2012.

"James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl ... we had some fruit trees in our garden, and reading that book completely transformed how I viewed any bugs or insects I saw on 'old fruit'!
