If my girls were happy about me getting an iPhone for just one reason then this app would be that reason.

With six mini games and additional story telling puzzles to create the game is lots of fun. With no in game advertising or charges I felt comfortable and safe to leave them to play by themselves.

The game is aimed at children aged 4 to 8 but Alison (aged 3) was perfectly capable of playing it.

The six mini games are each hosted by one of Tatty Puppy's blue nosed friends.

Blossom's skip & jump is the hardest and even I need to practice this one as I can't get very many.

Peanut's biscuit bake allows you to cut, bake and decorate your own biscuits in the shape of your favourite blue nose friends.

Coco's Beach Band allows you to be musical and create your own band.

Passion's magical garden is all about experimenting with colours and flowers.

Binky's hide 'n' seek is a great game where the children have to look around the virtual world by moving the device.

Cottonsocks' card match is great for building up your memory skills..

Available now on iOS and soon on Android the full game is only £1.99 and is fantastic value for money if only for the amount of quiet time it can give you when the kids are playing.

<![CDATA[Rug Doctor]]>Tue, 14 May 2013 16:10:54 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/05/rug-doctor.html
When I was offered a Rug Doctor to review I had to say yes, the carpets have had stains on them since I was childminding and we have just never got round to cleaning them.

Hubby had mentioned getting one in the past but we just never got around to it even though you can get it from our local Tesco.

Now I am a methodical type of person who likes to do things in a certain way including starting at the corner of the room. Hubby however is not like that. He chooses the spot that needs doing based on its grubbiness rather than doing it all and although the Rug Doctor has done a great job at removing the dirt I am not so pleased with lines of clean carpet as it just shows how dirty the rest of it is.

I popped out to Tesco earlier to buy some more of the carpet cleaner so at some point this week when I don't have so much to do I will work my way though the living room and the hall way and finish the job properly.

Saying that though the Rug Doctor is easy to use and as you can see in the photo below it really does work so next time I need the carpets doing I will go to Tesco and hire the Rug Doctor but I had better make sure I have the time to do it as you only hire them for 24 to 48 hours and this has been sat in my house for weeks before we finally got around to starting.

<![CDATA[Seedlets - Watch them grow!]]>Tue, 07 May 2013 13:08:37 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/05/seedlets-watch-them-grow.html
We received these fabulous gardening products through the post last week and just in time for the glorious bank holiday weather.

The girls had fantastic fun weeding and watering our flower beds and you can just start to see all of the little green shoots coming through from when we planted our Miracle Gro flowers. It is hard work maintaining a garden but with my new little gardeners I might even cancel our real gardener although Seedlets don't do a mini lawn mover yet. So I might hold off on that for a bit.

We planted our rocket salad and also some watermelon seeds from our breakfast (I know but Elizabeth wanted too) so hopefully we will have something tasty to eat as well as the flowers to look at.

There is loads in the Seedlets range and also some great tips and advice online from Chris Collins the bbc gardener who I met in

<![CDATA[Woolly and Tig by Golden Bear]]>Tue, 07 May 2013 11:17:23 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/05/woolly-and-tig-by-golden-bear.html
These friends here arrived last week and they have been everywhere with us since.

Elizabeth chose the jumbo bedtime snuggle Woolly, Alison chose the small poseable talking Woolly and we gave the smaller soft toy Woolly to a friend who we met for lunch on Saturday.

We went out to a local pub restaurant and the girls took their Woolly's with them. We also took the Pick n Match Pairs game which confusingly didn't come with any instructions so we played snap with them instead.

Never have I seen toys get such recognition and response from members of the public. In the few hours that we were there we were approached not just by other children who wanted to come and see Woolly but also by adults begging to know where we had got them from.

Trying to explain that they are not available yet but that you can pre-order them online at Amazon resulted in some very confused looks and a blatant "well how come you have one then?" question.

Woolly was not only popular but he is fantastically well made. The large cuddly Woolly is so soft that Elizabeth has used him as a pillow as well as a cuddly toy and he now resides on her bed. Alison loves the poseable talking Woolly, my only concern is that you can't replace the batteries when it has worn out which is a shame. Alison knows all of Woolly's phrases already and is now heard to walk around the house going "one rubberdubber, two rubberdubber, three rubberdubber".

All in all fabulous toys that really have helped bring the Woolly and Tig programme to life and I can imagine lots of happy children will soon be snuggling their very own Woolly.

When I wrote about attending the George Foreman event a couple of weeks ago I was very excited to start cooking and believe me my excitement is still here a few weeks later.

The George Foreman can be used for every day grill cooked items like these burgers (but don't they look so much nicer with stripes?). It can also be used to cook other foods.

Picture

I have been experimenting with my George Foreman over the past few weeks but I kept forgetting to take photos but I did remember when I cooked Corn on the cob because it looked so delicious.

Being on a diet means I am on a restricted diet but with George by my side I am able to cook up some fantastic food. I have set myself a little challenge and apart from my microwave and Kettle I will only use my George Foreman Grill and Melt to cook for myself over the next week.

Here is my meal plan

Breakfasts

Toasted Bagel with Bacon and cream cheese
Cheese on toast
Beans on toast
Full breakfast - bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, beans, mushrooms and tomato
Weetabix
Marmite on toast
Fruit Salad and Yogurt

Lunch

Mug Shot
Pilchards on Toast
Sausage sandwich
Panini with Ham, onion and cheese
Tuna Melt Ciabatta
Caesar Salad with grilled Chicken and Bacon
Ham Salad filled Pittas with Halloumi

Dinner

Salmon and Roasted (griddled) Vegetables
Hunters Chicken with Instant Mash and Salad
Burger, Potato Waffles and Beans
Kofta Kebabs and Couscous
Chicken wrapped in Bacon stuffed with Cheese with steamed veg
Pork, Pineapple and Vegetable wraps
Tuna Steaks with Salad and steamed new potatoes.

I was also thinking of doing some desserts on the George Foreman as well and I think grilled Banana or grilled Pineapple would be really tasty and it would be healthy too.

With my George by my side I will lose more weight and still eat gorgeous tasting food.

<![CDATA[Little Pinkies]]>Tue, 30 Apr 2013 21:30:53 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/04/little-pinkies.htmlPicture
In a few weeks the girls godfather moves back up to Scotland and as much as we will miss him I know that he will miss the girls even more.

With that in mind when I was offered the chance for a review of a Little Pinkies product I had to choose the cufflinks.

They arrived this weekend and they are amazing. The handprints that I took have come out really well and the quality of the cufflinks is amazing.

These Solid Silver cufflinks will be the perfect reminder for him of the girls but I might need to get him some more cufflink shirts so he can wear them more often.

<![CDATA[Fruit Bowl snacks]]>Tue, 30 Apr 2013 15:03:57 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/04/fruit-bowl-snacks.htmlTrying to put a healthy snack inside the kids lunchboxes can be really hard. The girls love strawberries but they are not the easiest thing to store in lunchboxes without them getting messy and bashed up.
Fruit Bowl snacks are a bit hit and miss in our house. The girls (and me) love the Yogurt coated strawberry flakes and the fruit peelers but we found that the Strawberry fruit flakes were a bit floury and the School bars were too chewy.

We have only tried the ones pictured above though so I am sure there are more in the range that we will enjoy. I am going to try the other yogurt covered fruits like raisins and raspberries. I am even tempted to try some of the other Fruit flakes like the tropical ones as they look lovely.

<![CDATA[Lego Friends #LegoFamilyBlogger]]>Sun, 21 Apr 2013 21:58:19 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/04/lego-friends-legofamilyblogger.htmlPicture
Last week saw the arrival of our next Lego Family Bloggers box. With something inside for each member of our family it really was tailor made for us.

The first thing we have opened and played with is the Lego Family sets. It even included one exclusive not in the shops set Elizabeth really was feeling spoilt.

This is the first time I have actually handed over building control to Elizabeth and I was really impressed to see how well she did. There was times when she was a little bit distracted and went forward a few steps but she soon worked out where she had gone wrong. Her first attempt was on Cat's playhouse and I love these little pet sets. At just £2.99 I don't mind buying one of these after a trip to Legoland discovery centre as its not breaking the bank.
The thing I love about the Friends set is that although very pink and very girly there are actually sets for Football practice, Karate Club Magic Tricks and even a flying club. Showing the girls that it is not all horse riding and pampering.

We all fell in love with this gorgeous exclusive Ice cream trolley pulled by the lovely Emma and the tiny ice cream and ice lolly are the perfect accessories for an almost summers day like we had yesterday.
I have lots more Lego in my family blogger box including more Legend of Chima Speedorz sets to enable us to build our own Chima Challenge arena and a special set for Hubby based on the new Iron Man 3 movie which is coming soon.

I can't wait to have a go at these and I will let you know how we get on in another review.

<![CDATA[Floppets]]>Fri, 19 Apr 2013 10:02:17 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/04/floppets.html
You know when you get sent something and as a parent you can't quite see the point of them so you show them to your kids and they fall in love with them?

That is exactly what happened when I opened the envelope containing Floppets.
Floppets are a pocket money collectable that are coming to the UK after being successful in the US. You can use Floppets to personalise belongings to even to wear as rings. There are different Floppet groups including Petlets, Munchkin monsters and Flop Seas.

The girls really liked their Floppets, so much so that they were fighting over who gets the last one so I have it instead.
We received three Floppets for the purpose of this review

<![CDATA[My Blue Nose Plush Friends]]>Fri, 19 Apr 2013 09:28:11 GMThttp://www.tiredmummyoftwo.co.uk/2/post/2013/04/my-blue-nose-plush-friends.htmlWhen we arrived home from the hospital yesterday we found a lovely parcel waiting for us from our friends at Carte Blanche. This month they are launching four new cute plush friends to add to the My Blue Nose Friends range. We received one of each of them. They are called Spirit the Lemur, Comedy the Hyena, Smoo the cow and Twist the snake.

They are all super soft but each one has a slightly different feel to it and they each have a small explanation about their character in their tags. The will be launching some more plush friends later in the summer as My Blue Nose Friends celebrates its fifth anniversary.

Other exciting news includes the release of an exciting new Blue Nose Friends - Tatty Puppy app. Children from 4-8 will love playing with their favourite Blue Nose Friends including Binky the Panda, Passion the Lovebug, Coco the Monkey and more. The free app also features a fun mini game that you can play with Peanut the hamster and the extended version (£1.99) has six mini games. With no in-app charges or advertising, children will be safe while exploring the world of Blue Nose Friends - Tatty Puppy.

The app is available on iOS from the end of April and Android from July. I will definitely be checking it out when it comes out on Android in July.
