... I honestly thought I had done it, I worked so hard, did so much research and I had a case. A really solid case.

I haven't yet had the letter that explains why I didn't succeed all I have received is a letter informing me that my appeal has been rejected.

In one way I am glad because it means that Elizabeth gets to go to the school which is closer, that isn't catholic and who's foundation stage is taught use the montessori methods.

I am sad though, I am sad for Elizabeth who has to say goodbye to her friends on Thursday, friends who she may not see again. In September she starts school surrounded by children who might already know each other and she will be the new kid. I hope there are lots of other new kids too.

I would gratefully receive any tips on explaining to my 4 year old that she won't be coming back to the school she loves and the teachers she has grown fond off. All the teachers are talking about at the moment is going into reception, she assumes she will be going with them.

School life can be hard and I worried so much about which school to choose for my son. The closer Cof E that I might not get in or the further away state school, I tried to stay open minded when I viewed them but had a clear fav...I tryed to remain calm for the 6 month wait, and got the local school. During this time my son was at a nursery 11 miles away and I was worried he would know knowone at school so put him in addition hours at a local nursery. Well I dont know why I bothered, he loved his first nursery, the local one did nothing for him, they even called me in to tell me he wouldnt socalise with any of the children...So now double worried I dreaded the day he set off for school.
Should I have worried well No is the answer, it turned out he had one friend from the origonal nursery, and gained 3 new members to his Gang! He is just about to finish year 1 and the teachers comments have come back with " E is a well intergrated and liked member of the class!"

The answer, your daughter will make new friends and settle in better than we imagine they will as adults I think that because we think it would be difficult for us to do it would be the same for them! :-)

I hope you have a good September...and a great start to school...
