Today I did a really scary thing, I handed in my notice at work. I mean I have done that sort of thing before but this time I don't have a job to go to, this time I am just giving up.

I have timed it to coincide with the two weeks holiday that Elizabeth will have off from school at the start of June and I have handed in the notice at Alisons nursery to finish on the same day so for a while I will be a non working stay at home mum and although I will enjoy it hopefully it wont be too long before I am earning again. As most of you know I am in the process of becoming a childminder, with a course every Tuesday and first aid and safeguarding taking up the next few Saturdays I am really pushing to get my registration as soon as possible.

I worked out that I dont need an income until about the middle of July purely based on not paying Alisons nursery fees. I am really looking forward to teh challenge of being a childminder and I knwo that not only will I have fun with the children but doing my own accounts will mean I wont be paying any tax and I will still be keeping my mathematical brain happy.

I have loved working where I do and I will be really sad to leave the people but I need to be there for my kids and I am missing too much. When I first left school I wanted to work with children but the wages were too low for my party lifestyle at the time so I went into accountancy. I now feel as though I am going back to my dream but this time being an accountant will help me along the way.

Wish me luck.

Good luck!

I had a fab career until getting made redundant whilst on maternity leave with my youngest.. I decided to go into Childminding and finally started work in May 2011. It has been a real learning curve, but one I can honestly say I wouldn't change. Have just got funding to do my Level 3 (mammoth amounts of work but hey it will improve my setting). Hope you enjoy it as much as I do x x x x

Hi, good luck with the childminding, I thought about it at one point as well but am now lucky enough to work from home so get to do all school runs anyhow.

On a different note, I have found you through Boo, Tigger and Roo where your Bliss 10K run was blogged about. I will donate but couldnt see a way to leave a comment on your poost about it. I hope it goes really well. I have recently started running as well, and had I of known about this would of probably entered as Bliss was a life line when both my son's were born prematurely. They do some fab work, so from a family who has benefited from Bliss, thank you x

Hey, thanks for letting me know about the link, I suppose it is difficult to find. at the bottom of the list of prizes is a link that takes you to the competition page and there is a rafflecopter form on there. Or go straight from the front page and into competitions, I think it is about 6 competitions back.

Let me know if you cant find it and good luck, I hope you win a prize you like.
